Gh Class car prototype pictures

MÁV Gh Class car minipic The Gh cars were purchased between 1908 and 1927 to transport large volume goods, like furniture. The high, trapeze cross section roof is a typical Hungarian solution, no freight cars in Germany or Austria were built with a similar shape roof. This picture was taken on March 8th 2003 in the yard of the Museum repair shop in Budapest Istvántelke.

MAV Gh class freight car minipic The Gh-car from another view. This is the same car on the same location as on the previous photo, but the picture was taken 3 years later. Well visible, most car components are similar to those on the simple G-class boxcars. The grilles are the same, but now the doors are also equipped with one. The fittings and other accessories are similar, too. This made the maintenance easier.
