The model of the Preussian T3 made from a RÖWA kit


Preussian Class T3 steam engine model  minipic The ready made T3 model. The kit itself was originally black, I painted to "preussian green".


Preussian Class T3 steam engine model  minipic The other side of the model. Originally the die-cast plastic components contained cast-on parts, that were removed and substituted by stand-alone brass ones.

Preussian Class T3 steam engine model  minipic The back side of the model. The headlights are made from Weinert brass castings, the whistle was self made.

Preussian Class T3 steam engine model  minipic The drivetrain. The original kit did not contain any gears and not even their place was prepared in the white metal casting. The bearings of the worm gear are glued to the frame casting. The bearings of the other gears were drilled into the white metal.

Verbeck Röwa T3 drivetrain minipic The same kit, the drivetrain, however, was made by a professional model maker, the Co. Verbeck. They used the same concept, but they applied a small Faulhaber ironless core motor with flywheel. The picture was taken on the Intermodellbau Exhibition in Dortmund/Germany in 1991.
