The Model of an old Hungarian passenger car of Austrian origin

Old Hungarian car model minipic These components were salvaged from the original kit. The four walls, the baseplate and the longitudinal bars with the spring and bearing box castings. Here on the picture the four walls are already glued together.

Old Hungarian car model minipic The roof from brass. The original roof from the kit was a way too thick and in addition badly warped. Thus the easiest solution was to make a new one from scratch. The wall in the center was probably available on the prototype as well. Here it also serves to fix the roof to the baseplate.

Old Hungarian car model minipic The first picture about the mounted car. The walkway on the roof is still missing, as well as the window frames.

Old Hungarian car model minipic The ready made, painted car. This is actually the second painting. The first one was a way too light, almost ocker yellow. The Hungarian 3rd Class cars were painted until 1927, however, tobacco brown. You can observe the gas tank on the bottom. These cars were equipped with gas lights.

Old Hungarian car model minipic The car platform. The ladders and the roof walk were necessary, as that time the conductor climbed on the roof every evening and lighted the gas lights from upside.
