Pictures of the MÁV Class 325 engine prototype

MÁV Class 325 loco minipic A very nice profile photo about the Class IIIq #3248, later MÁV 325,108. This is also a subtype 36.07 engine with old type valvegear. You can see the forked front end of the reverse rod. This was an innovation coming with the subtype 36.03. It allowed a different filling ratio for the left side high pressure cylinder and for the right side low pressure one controlled by a single lever. This engine remained behind the north-east front after WW1 and became a loco of the Polish PKP.

MÁV Class 325 loco minipic This old photo shows the Class IIIq #3259, after 1911 MÁV 325,119. She was built in 1899 as member of the subtype 36.07, thus having an old type valvegear. The lying "C" shape reverse hanger is clearly visible. This engine remained in Romania after 1921.

MÁV Class 325 engine minipic This is a manufacturer's photo about the Class IIIq #3296, later 325,156 loco. This is a nice engine of the subtype 36.09 with new valvegear version. After 1921 she became member of the Yugoslavian loco fleet as Class 126-029.

MÁV Class 325 engine minipic A Class IIIq hauls a heavy lumber train somewhere in Transylvania. The air pump on the left side shows an engine of the second valvegear type, the number is unfortunately invisible.

MÁV Class 325 engine minipic A Class 325 somewhere in the Great Hungarian Plain. The air pump is also on the left (fireman) side showing a loco with new type valvegear. Take a look at the very characteristic cylinder block and valvegear cover shape!

MÁV Class 325 engine minipic Three Class IIIq engines in front of a roundhouse in Transylvania. These are old valvegear type engines, the lying C-shape Reverse Arm is clearly visible as well as the air pump on the right side. The very first loco in the queue is the #3200, after 1911 Class 325,060. She was a member of the subtype 36.06, built in 1898. She remained in Transylvania after 1921 and became member of the Romanian CFR fleet.

MÁV Class 325 engine minipic The Class IIIq #3154, later Class 325,014 engine. This is a 36.02 subtype early engine from 1893. The reverse rod front end is still unforked. She remained in Hungary after WW1, but was taken away in the WW2. It remained West-Germany until 1952. Then it was returned to Hungary where it was in service until 1960.

MÁV Class 325 loco minipic This picture shows an old type Class 325 engine that was equipped with an old Brotan boiler in 1920. She is either the 325,014 or the 325,019. These both locos were mounted with Brotan boiler from the early subtype 36.02 machines with unforked reverse rod.

A MÁV Class 325 after air raid minipic This picture shows the Debrecen workshop yard after an air raid in 1944. In the bomb crater in the foreground, yes, a Class 325. With new type valvegear, well visible.

MÁV Class 325 loco minipic This photo shows the only survivor of this Class, the #3219, later 325,079, after 1921 Yugoslavian 126-014. This is a 36.06 subtype loco, with old type valvegear. She was partly rebuilt in Yugoslavia, the boiler is a bit different than the original one and the smokebox is equipped with a German looking smokebox door.
