Gn class freezer car model pictures

Class Gn car model baseplate minipic The baseplate bottom view of the second freezer car model. It was made on the same way as the previous car models. The parts of the bearing box were made now with etching technology, this gives better results. This car had a symmetric break rig as visible on this photo, too.

First freezer car model minipic The old type freezer car model before painting. This is similar to the 1:5 scale model in the Transport Museum. I added footplates on the roof to take this picture, they will be removed before painting. They are from real wood.

First freezer car model minipic The back side of the freezer car with all etched steps that were soldered on the wall one by one. These cars were equipped with a running board along the car that allowed the conductor to traverse from the caboose to the train. These cars were often forwarded by passenger trains.

Second freezer car model minipic The model of the new type freezer car. Its prototype can be seen in the dump yard of the old Istvántelke repair shop. It is not clear if these cars were manufactured as seen, or they were rebuilt from older cars.

Second freezer car model minipic The other side of the new type freezer car model. These cars were equipped with a steel rod ladder rather than individual steps. It was important to climb on the roof on these cars as the ice filling doors were on the roof.
