Prototype & Model

Diósjenö station old photo minipic The Station Building was a Christmas-time project. My son likes to build complicated railway trackage using his snap track pieces. He often complained that his stations don't give the impression of a "real" station as no buildings are available. Not long time before this project I bought a Dover-book paper cut-out "city" and decided to use this technology to build a station building. I chose the 3rd Class branchline building, that was very popular in Hungary, and there are still many of them available. The paper layout was made using a laser printer.

Branchline station model minipic The model building needed more than the Christmas vacation time, but the result is not bad. Looking closer one can see the "paper" doors and windows, but looking from distance it is not as disturbing.

Here you can read about this Station.
